Those who wish to use our services off-site will need to make sure they meet the minimum requirements for hardware, software, and bandwidth. Those requirements are listed below.
It is STRONGLY urged that off-site users do not use a free-standing microphone and speakers that are in close proximity to each other (within 3 feet). This leads to terrible echoing and noise as the microphone picks up the sound coming from the speakers, creating a continuous loop.
Off-site users are encouraged to use headsets/earphones when speakers are in close proximity to microphones.

* The conferencing client (ActiveX) can select most Windows compatible video devices. We recommend web cams that are USB 2.0 or Firewire compatible because they reduce the load on the CPU.
** All sound cards listed as 'compatible' to Sound Blaster (SB) Live or better will work with the audio conferencing feature. These are typically non SB sound cards manufactured after the year 2000 because they offer a more advanced recording and playback functionality. There are, however, exceptions where some older sound cards will work with our audio conferencing technology.
*** Due to the technical limitation of some video cards, the desktop acceleration feature works best with NVidia chipset video cards.
